I painted this while making a living doing romance covers and other illustration. I'd been missing fantasy. I didn't have the time to put into dragon scales, like in "the old days," but I got a kick out of painting some effects, like the filmy cloth, the blue glow, and the rocks (for which I loaded a large brush with a bunch of colors, and painted in a few strokes). The girl is based on an old photo whose copyright I'd acquired, and I think the dragon is based on that one that wanders through my back yard now and then. Detail at [link] Copyright W.J. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
