Just a quick study, for part of a painting I was thinking of doing in oils. It's funny, how resizing a scan on textured paper can cause odd little changes in your drawing. This disturbs me -- but whatcha gonna do?
~~ You may find this strange after your artist's comments, but this is my favorite so far out of what I have seen. It is so soft and feminine and at the same time she has a sensuality even I can see. I like this! ~~
Thank you very much. I do little drawings like this all the time, mostly for myself. Some end up going to shows, because they are sitting out or surface when I'm getting ready to go, but I have drawers full that no one ever sees. Left to my own devices, this is often where I head, to a soft look, evoking some of the qualities I most appreciate. Pieces like this often disappear amidst all the contrast and strong colors of the typical show.
I've been working hard for weeks, trying to finish new paintings/drawings, staying away from dA, Facebook, etc., in order to get work done. I opened up my dA messages to find your note. I probably look a bit silly, all by myself in the middle of my studio, smiling.
